Getting Organised, Memories & The ABC’s of Genuine Happiness

A few days ago I realised that all the photos and videos of Elijah as a newborn I have on my phone weren't backed up to my computer. This confused me because I regularly sync and backup my iPhone. After doing a little digging, I discovered what the issue was and have managed to start transferring everything to my computer.

It's not completely done yet, and it's not an easy task because I have thousands of photos and hundreds of videos from the past almost 3 years. Literally. I'm not sure if it's normal to have as many photos and videos as I do, maybe it's a mum thing? Or maybe not. Maybe it's just the type of person that I am, I love taking photos and capturing memories. We only have one life, and we are so lucky to have the technology that we do these days that so many of us probably take for granted. But honestly, I am almost embarrassed to admit just how many there were - over 10,000 photos and almost 400 videos.

I would be interested to know how many photos and videos other people have in their camera roll at the moment, just for reassurance if anything. Please do let me know in the comments to help me feel a bit more normal.

Anyway, while sorting through some of them (and trying to make extra space on my phone for new photos) I found a note I had saved and I thought it was too good not to share.

Vent. Visualise your dreams.

Walk. Write. Watch the sunset.

Xerox your smiling face.

Yell less. Yield to your thoughts.

Zap negativity.

I have been feeling a bit low for a while now, and it really helped me to read this and remember what is important in life. I truly believe that if there is a secret to genuine happiness this would be exactly it.
