The Me & Mine Project – March 2018

March has been and gone and it’s been another very busy month.

Being part of a book club has inspired me to make more time to read. This month I’ve finished three books and have started reading a fourth. I’m currently about halfway through How To Stop Time by Matt Haig and am really enjoying it.

My shop is keeping me busy which is wonderful, I love seeing it slowly grow and go from strength to strength.

We’ve been watching Friends on Netflix and I’m sad to say we are nearing the end. I feel like it’s one of those shows you can watch over and over and never get sick of but I think we will be looking for something new to watch soon. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We also decided to drive down south to visit my extended family this weekend so we are enjoying a lovely little break before we go back to reality in a few days. I can’t wait to see the look on Elijah’s face when he’s finds out the Easter Bunny has been!

What have you been up to this month? Do you have any Easter family traditions?

The Me & Mine Project – February 2018

This was the best photo I managed to get of the three of us this month - these two boys are so cheeky together at the moment! When one of them was smiling nicely, the other was pulling a silly face. I guess that's boys for you!! (Check out my Instagram for some silly snaps too).

Another busy month for us, but where January seemed to drag on, February has passed in the blink of an eye.

I've been busy working on my shop, Joel has had two assignments for Uni to do (he's finishing off the second one as I write this) and we've all been unwell with colds and infections. Thankfully we are all much better now.

We've been to a few more gymnastics classes with Elijah and have decided to keep taking him as he is loving it. It's a drop in class which is good as it means we don't have to go every week if we have other things on.

Some of you may know that we have decided to move to Australia around the middle of next year, and we are so close to submitting our partner visa application. It will be such a weight off our shoulders to get it done, but also a bit nerve-wracking as it takes soooo long to process.

We also had a heart check-up for Elijah at the hospital this month, they said his heart function looks normal and they are very happy with it. They said he won't need another check-up until after we move which is wonderful news, we couldn't be more relieved. He is growing up to be such a funny, loving, kind, energetic little boy and we are so proud of him.

The cold weather is dragging on into March, we've had so much snow and there is supposed to be more the next few days. I have to say I'm not too keen on it, I can't wait for warmer weather and sunshine. With the cold weather keeping us indoors a bit more, Elijah has become totally obsessed with Toy Story. He'll often ask to watch the movie or read the book several times a day. His favourite character at the moment is Woody. You know you are winning at parenting when your child loves classic Disney movies!!

What have you been up to this month? And who is your favourite toy story character? (Growing up, mine was always Bo Peep, but now I love Slinky!) Let me know yours in the comments!

The Me & Mine Project – January 2018

Our family - January 2018

January has been a fairly busy month for us. We've had family days out, lots of things to organise and have been trying to continue decluttering our house.

At the beginning of January, we had a day out in Newcastle. We caught up with one of my friends from dancing who was visiting from Australia. We had crepes and coffee for breakfast then did some shopping. After she left to go down to London, my boys and I got some goodies from the Body Shop and Lush.

We took Elijah to get some passport photos taken - he was good as gold and the photographer was brilliant with him. We even got a cute picture of him smiling! He seems to be loving the camera at the moment - whenever I pull out my DSLR to take photos for my shop, he stands in front of me going "Say cheese!" on repeat until I take a picture of him!

We also took Elijah to try out a gymnastics class last weekend. He was a bit unsure at first but warmed up eventually - he loved jumping on the mats and crawling through a tunnel. We've decided to take him to a few more classes before we decide whether to continue going.

As for my business, I've been busy working on orders (which is always wonderful), and getting my website up and running in the background.

I think February may be a bit of a quieter month - although we still have a few things to do in the next week or so. I'm hoping to write a few extra blog posts and read more, too.

What have you been up to this month? Let me know in the comments!
